Job summary

My Inspiring Journey Hub in Singapore seeks a Special Needs Educator to design, deliver, and evaluate individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs. The role emphasizes holistic development across academic, social, and emotional domains, with close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and parents.

You will create differentiated lessons, use assistive technology, monitor progress, maintain records, and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with specialists and families to design and implement personalized IEPs.
• Ensure the IEP aligns with the student’s goals and addresses academic, social, and behavioral needs.
• Regularly assess, review, and adjust IEPs based on the student’s progress and changing needs.
• Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and abilities.
• Use assistive technology to meet diverse student needs and facilitate learning.
• Facilitate individual and group learning sessions, ensuring each student is engaged and supported.
• Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and document outcomes.
• Maintain detailed records of academic performance, observations, behavioral progress, and milestones.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and active learning.
• Implement positive behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe space.
• Address challenging behaviors with evidence-based interventions and document changes as needed.
• Supervise and monitor students during activities, outdoor play, and transitions to ensure safety.
• Follow health and safety protocols to manage risks and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Communicate with parents or caregivers about progress and development.
• Collaborate with therapists and learning support staff for coordinated care and strategies.
• Attend team meetings to discuss student progress and share resources.
