In-Fab Repair Project Lead — China

Job summary

KLA in Singapore invites an experienced Sustaining Engineer to own in-fab repair escalations for China-based customers. You will diagnose complex tool issues, define root causes, and deliver POAs, BOMs, and repair procedures enabling first-time-right repairs, coordinating with field teams and HQ engineering.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, strong project management, and stakeholder communication across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of sustaining engineering, support engineering, or senior field service experience on semiconductor capital equipment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting at the board level and with opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead L4 escalations.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own Escalation projects from field in-fab repair teams in China; drive issues to closure with clear technical ownership.
• Manage multiple escalations and sites in parallel; triage and prioritize based on impact and urgency.
• Plan and track escalation milestones; coordinate stakeholders across field, HQ engineering, logistics, and supply chain.
• Conduct root-cause analysis using logs, history, and engineering data; isolate mechanical, electrical, optical, or software causes.
• Guide field engineers through diagnostics and corrective actions; provide real-time direction during live repair events.
• Author POAs, BOMs, and repair procedures for field execution; ensure clear documentation.
• Partner with Design Engineering and Product Support to develop permanent fixes and ECOs.
• Translate field symptoms into engineering language and solutions into executable steps for China teams.
