Job summary

ST ANDREW'S MISSION HOSPITAL seeks a dedicated educator to deliver engaging lessons for students with diverse profiles, including those with autism. You will implement evidence-based pedagogy, monitor progress with accurate feedback, and collaborate with families and Allied Professionals to implement IEP/ITP goals.

You will design positive classroom routines, manage behaviours, and support transitions to post-school pathways through vocational programmes and partnerships with industry.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree required or equivalent
• Teaching qualifications or Special Education designation advantageous
• Experience with autism spectrum children/youth advantageous

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging and well-paced lessons for diverse learners
• Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities
• Implement assessments to monitor progress and provide feedback
• Build strong relationships with students and families/caregivers
• Develop IEP/ITP plans and align strategies with stakeholders
• Create safe, positive classroom routines and environment
• Manage emergency situations following school processes
• Engage in professional development and collaborative teams
• Participate in school initiatives and events
• Maintain communications with external stakeholders to support student learning
• Plan vocational or transition-related activities where applicable
• Support student development through appropriate tools and technologies
• Deliver parent education sessions to help families understand needs
• Develop partnerships with industry to enhance student opportunities
