Job summary

IKEA Singapore is seeking an experienced Kitchen Designer/Sales Associate to help customers plan and purchase IKEA kitchens in-store. You will design layouts, advise on suitable products, and promote the full IKEA range with strong customer service and sales focus.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work weekends, public holidays and shift works.

Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of Active Sales to find solutions for customers and promote IKEA Kitchens.
• Assist customers to design their ideal Kitchen and suggest suitable products.
• Maximize kitchen furniture and accessories sales using IKEA range and local market knowledge.
• Explain services like assembly, installation, transport and finance to help customers.
• Coach customers and colleagues in planning Ikea kitchens with the Home Planner.
• Keep updated on competitor pricing to highlight IKEA's advantages.
• Draw kitchen floor plans by hand when Home Planner is unavailable and note minimum measurements.
• Ensure kitchens are delivered and installed on time according to plan.
• Support manager in executing department promotions.

About the job

• You have relevant experience working with floor plan, kitchen site measurement; in depth knowledge on Ikea kitchen planning, layout and installations issues.
• Utilise your knowledge of Active Sales in finding solutions for the customer. You should have a passion for selling IKEA Kitchens and have the confidence to Actively Sell our IKEA range to the customer.
• Assist the customer to help design their ideal Kitchen and suggest suitable products and arrangements conforming to their ideal design.
• To maximise kitchen furniture and accessories sales using knowledge of IKEA range, local market, as well as the IKEA tools and the experience and expertise of your colleagues.
• Know about all the services offered in the store such as assembly, kitchen installation, transport and finance and use the knowledge to help customers make informed choices which results in a better shopping experience for them.
• Have in depth knowledge in the Ikea Home Planner allow you to assist and coach the customers and your colleagues in planning Ikea kitchens according to specifications, taking into consideration all the Ikea kitchen planning criteria.
• Taking active interest in local kitchen competition, have competitor price overview which helps you promote IKEA products in ways that best show our competitive advantage to our customers.
• You have the skill to draw a kitchen floor plan by hand when the Ikea Home Planner is unavailable and describe the minimum measurements that are required to plan a functional kitchen.
• You have hands on experience and competence to support customers and colleagues with professional solutions to kitchen planning and installation issues.
• Have an eye for details, responsible to cross check kitchen drawing planned by your colleagues to minimise potential errors.
• Work with kitchen service provider closely to ensure Ikea kitchens are delivered and installed on time according to planned specification.
• Support your manager in executing department commercial plans, activities and promotions.

• You have an interest in Sales, kitchen furnishing and people’s everyday life at home.
• You have experience in planning, designing and selling Kitchens in a retail environment.
• You will have the ability and confident to work with customers on their desired Kitchen layout, and accurately complete complex purchases.
• Good knowledge with site measurement & Kitchen installation and ability to handle difficult situation.
• You are a problem solver, good at prioritizing and organizing your work and work with different people in various situation efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• You must be flexible and available to work on weekends, Public holidays and shift works.
