Job summary

HYDAC TECHNOLOGY PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Hydraulic Commissioning & Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain and service industrial hydraulic systems at customer sites.

You will read schematics, adjust pumps and valves, perform tests, travel locally and overseas, and provide technical reports and customer support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in hydraulic commissioning, servicing or troubleshooting.
• 5+ years industrial hydraulic experience preferred.
• Degree in mechanical engineering or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing hydraulic systems and HPUs at customer sites.
• Inspecting piping, components and electrical connections before commissioning.
• Reading hydraulic and electro-hydraulic schematics and adjusting pumps/valves.
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance and servicing.

Hydraulic Commissioning & Service Engineer

Position: Hydraulic Commissioning & Service Engineer

Location: Singapore, with local and overseas site travel as required

Job Responsibilities

We are lookingfor a hands‑on Hydraulic Commissioning & Service Engineer to supportthe installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and servicing ofindustrial hydraulic systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Commissioning and testing hydraulic systems, hydraulic power units (HPUs) and machinery at customer sites.
• Inspecting hydraulic piping, components, electrical connections and system installation before commissioning.
• Reading and interpreting hydraulic and electro‑hydraulic schematics.
• Setting and adjusting hydraulic pumps, relief valves, pressure‑control valves, flow‑control valves and other hydraulic components.
• Conducting pressure, flow, temperature, leakage and functional performance tests.
• Troubleshooting hydraulic system problems such as low pressure, insufficient flow, unstable actuator movement, overheating, abnormal noise, vibration and leakage.
• Diagnosing faults involving pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters, coolers and instrumentation.
• Supporting proportional and servo hydraulic systems and their associated control systems.
• Performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and hydraulic system servicing.
• Carrying out hydraulic oil flushing, contamination checks and filtration‑related work.
• Using hydraulic test equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors and diagnostic equipment.
• Working with PLC‑controlled and electro‑hydraulic systems to identify control‑related problems.
• Liaising directly with customers during commissioning, troubleshooting and service activities.
• Preparing commissioning reports, service reports, test records and troubleshooting reports.
• Providing technical support and recommendations to customers.
• Supporting engineering teams in system improvement, modification and troubleshooting activities.
• Travelling locally and internationally for commissioning and service projects when required.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety requirements.

Requirements

• Nitec, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Hydraulic Engineering or a related discipline is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in hydraulic commissioning, servicing, maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Candidates with 5+ years of industrial hydraulic experience will be preferred.
• Experience with industrial machinery, heavy equipment, marine/offshore equipment, lifting systems, presses or hydraulic power units is an advantage.
• Driving license
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting ability.

• Able to work independently at customer sites.
• Able to identify the root cause of hydraulic problems rather than simply replacing components.
• Good understanding of the relationship between pressure, flow, speed, force, torque and hydraulic power.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
• Able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Practical, responsible and safety‑conscious.
• Willing to travel for local and overseas projects.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies
