Job summary

Allianz Global Investors is seeking an HR Generalist to serve as the primary HR services contact for managers and employees in Hong Kong or Singapore, with responsibility for HK/Singapore and APAC region processes. You will support onboarding, payroll interfaces, HR programs, and digital service delivery.

You will partner with HR Operations, HRBPs, and regional stakeholders to ensure compliant, high-quality People Services while embracing AI-driven improvements and automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field with 4+ years of HR Generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end HR processes, compliance, and multi-jurisdiction requirements.
  • Experience supporting multi-country HR operations across APAC.
  • Regional/international HR experience for HK, SG, and APAC countries.
  • Proficient in HR digital tools (SAP HCM, SuccessFactors, MS 365/Copilot); AI interest is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvements to simplify and automate HR services.

Job description

Join us now as Human Resources Generalist in Hong Kong within the HR Operations team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for transactional HR services for managers and employees, providing practical and solution‑oriented support when further guidance is needed after available self‑service resources have been utilized. This role promotes a self‑service‑first approach while ensuring a responsive and user‑friendly people experience through modern digital tools and platforms. By ensuring high‑quality operational delivery, continuous improvement, and increased automation enabled by AI, the HR Generalist contributes directly to business success. The role supports the ongoing evolution of HR services by driving innovation, simplifying processes and delivering a seamless, consistent and digital user experience. The role has direct responsibility for Hong Kong / Singapore and will additionally support other countries within the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with colleagues across HR Operations, HR Business Partners and regional stakeholders, the HR Generalist will ensure the consistent delivery of compliant, high‑quality People Services while navigating different legal, regulatory and cultural environments. Adaptable and pragmatic, the HR Generalist embraces new technologies and actively supports change initiatives. Effective collaboration with HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Product Houses and external partners is essential to deliver consistent, compliant people services across regions.

This position will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

What You Do
People Service Delivery & Process Excellence
  • Deliver accurate, efficient end-to-end HR processes focused on data quality, compliance, and service excellence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements that simplify processes, increase efficiency, and enhance service delivery.
  • Prioritise tasks, elevate issues when needed, and drive them to resolution.
  • Ensure operational excellence in RUN activities through strong knowledge of business needs, data flows, HR systems, and process links.
Employee & Manager Support
  • Act as the daily contact for employees, managers, and external stakeholders on HR inquiries.
  • Provide clear, consistent guidance on HR policies, processes, and standard employee matters to support an efficient user experience.
  • Coordinate timely handover of complex or specialized cases to HR Business Partners or Product Houses.
  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, offboarding, relocations, visas, and local HR reporting.
  • Oversee benefits administration and vendor relationships with the HR Country Lead, ensuring quality service and compliance.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure People Services processes are documented and comply with legal, regulatory, policy, internal control, and Work Instruction requirements.
  • Regularly review and update process diagrams and work instructions with People Services Leads, including annual updates.
  • Protect confidential employee information through strong data privacy, security, and governance standards.
  • Stay current on employment legislation and global HR processes to provide accurate, compliant guidance.
  • Support audits, reporting, and compliance activities with accurate information, documentation, and operational expertise.
Digital Enablement & Continuous Innovation
  • Drive digital‑first People Services delivery by leveraging modern technologies, automation, and user‑friendly platforms to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, streamline, and digitize end-to-end HR processes, improving service quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Actively contribute to People Services initiatives, championing change and promoting the adoption of new ways of working.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, with 4+ years’ experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end HR value chain, employment law, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience supporting multi‑country HR operations across varied legal, regulatory, and stakeholder environments.
  • Essential regional or international experience, supporting Hong Kong, Singapore, and other Asia Pacific countries.
  • Strong digital skills, including SAP HCM, SuccessFactors, Microsoft 365/Copilot, ad hoc reporting, and interest in AI‑driven solutions; ServiceNow a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to and support change in a digitally enabled HR environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to turn HR data insights into action.
  • Experience supporting HR digitalization, automation, process optimization, service enhancement, and redesign.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and change support skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with commitment to learning, innovation, emerging technologies, and modern ways of working.
  • Asset Management experience and multi‑location HR operations experience preferred.
  • AI skills: Generative Ai, Data Analytics, Data Protection, Data governance, Human‑AI Interaction
