Hull Production Engineer: Translate Drawings into Ship Production

Job summary

PaxOcean Group is seeking an experienced Naval Architect/Engineer to plan and prepare hull drawings, lifting and docking plans, and mooring layouts, while providing technical support to the production team.

You will serve as the technical link between design and production, translating engineering drawings into workable production instructions and ensuring compliance with class requirements, project specifications, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Naval Architecture, Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant marine/maritime experience.
• Strong understanding of hull structure, fabrication and shipbuilding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and production drawings.
• Familiarity with class and regulatory requirements.
• Proactive, team-oriented, adaptable to tight schedules and shipyard conditions.
• Ability to coordinate with design, planning, QA/QC and production teams.
• Experience dealing with Class surveyors and owner representatives.
• Capability to prepare technical reports and responses.

Responsibilities

• Engineering & Production Preparation: prepare hull structure and production drawings (docking plan, lifting plans, mooring layouts).
• Quality & Compliance: ensure fabrication complies with class rules and project specs; support QA/QC inspections.
• Planning & Coordination: align deliverables with production schedules; interface management with outfitting and piping teams.
• Material & Fabrication Control: verify material specs and traceability.
• Continuous Improvement: propose fabrication method improvements; support cost control and efficiency reviews.
