Hull Painting Supervisor - Shipyard Lead

Job summary

ST Engineering Singapore seeks an experienced supervisor to lead a crew in hull painting, cleaning and O level tasks on-site. You will coordinate manpower, schedule deployments, track daily hours and ensure adherence to paint specifications and safety protocols.

You will liaise with owners, paint representatives and surveyors, attend VSCC meetings when needed, and ensure timely project updates. The role requires drawing interpretation skills and the ability to work under pressure at our site in

Qualifications

• NTC/Diploma in engineering field.
• At least 5 years working experience in a shipyard or similar environment.
• FROSIO, SSPC or NACE would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of blasting and painting operation.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and paint specifications.
• Able to make decisions, render judgment and take appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of chargehands, assistant supervisors and sub-contractors to perform on-site hull painting, cleaning and O level task activities.
• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily man hour returns and coordinate in all aspects of site issues.
• Update daily manpower deployment record and overtime.
• Liaise with owners, paint representative and surveyor to ensure compliance with paint specifications and requirements.
• Attend the daily VSCC meeting if necessary.
• Obtain entry into confined space permits or any other work permit system.
• Inspect and update check list.
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule.
• Prepare reports on job status and project completion.
• Inspect vessels and ensure proper handling over to customers.
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments on project issues.
• Update weekly progress and attend meetings.
