Job summary

ST Engineering Marine Ltd is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead on-site hull painting, cleaning and related tasks. You will manage a team of chargehands, assistants and sub-contractors to ensure safe, quality work and on-time delivery.

You will coordinate manpower, liaise with owners, paint representatives and surveyors on specifications, monitor progress, and prepare status reports to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

• NTC/Diploma in any Engineering field.
• At least 5 years working experience in a shipyard or similar environment.
• FROSIO, SSPC or NACE certifications would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and paint specifications.
• Ability to make decisions and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of chargehands, assistant supervisors and sub-contractors to perform on-site hull painting, cleaning and O' level task activities.
• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily man hour returns and coordinate in all aspects of site issues.
• Update daily manpower deployment record and overtime.
• Liaise with owners and paint representative and surveyor on complying with paint specification and requirements.
• Attend the daily VSCC meeting if necessary.
• Obtain entry into confined space permits or any other work permit system.
• Inspect and update check list.
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule.
• Prepare reports on job status and project completion.
• Inspect vessels and ensure proper handling over to customers.
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments on project issues.
• Update weekly progress and attend meeting.
