Job summary

National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a part-time hip-hop dance instructor for NUS d’Hoppers based at Kent Ridge Campus. The role focuses on teaching Hip-Hop and Freestyle, developing technique, and preparing students for performances.

The instructor will work within CFA under the Office of Student Affairs to deliver structured classes and progressive training. Ideal candidates have extensive teaching experience, active involvement in the dance scene, and a strong commitment to

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience teaching and leading in Hip-Hop and Freestyle.
• Current or recent teaching experience in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
• Active engagement in the local and/or international dance scene as a performer and instructor.
• Good character and professional standing, with a demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Recognised academic qualifications in the art form and pedagogy is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured instruction in Hip-Hop and Freestyle techniques, musicality and performance skills.
• Conduct regular training sessions calibrated to the group’s learning needs and skill level.
• Prepare the group for key performances and events, guiding members in translating ideas into live performances.
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and creative exploration.
• Collaborate with CFA leadership to develop instructional programmes aligned with the AFA framework.
