Job summary

NUS d’Hoppers, a Hip-Hop dance crew under the National University of Singapore, seeks an accomplished instructor based in Singapore to lead group training and advance techniques in Hip-Hop and Freestyle.

As part of the NUS Centre for the Arts within the Office of Student Affairs, you will design structured sessions, mentor students, and collaborate with CFA leadership to align programming with the AFA framework. Part-time yearly contract; flexible hours.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience teaching and leading in Hip-Hop and Freestyle.
• Current or recent teaching experience in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
• Active engagement in the local and/or international dance scene as a performer and instructor.
• Good character and professional standing, with a demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Recognised academic qualifications in the art form and pedagogy is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured instruction in Hip-Hop and Freestyle dance techniques, musicality, and performance skills.
• Conduct regular training sessions calibrated to the group’s learning needs and skill level.
• Prepare the group for key performances and events, guiding members in translating creative ideas into compelling live performance.
• Collaborate with CFA leadership to develop an instructional programme aligned with the AFA framework.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student collaboration and creative exploration.
