Job summary

TUV SUD PSB PTE. LTD. is seeking an Engineer to manage daily operations of a Concrete Cube Testing Laboratory in Singapore. You will oversee sample processing, curing, testing, and reporting in compliance with Singapore Standards and ISO/IEC 17025.

The role includes supervising technicians, coordinating clients, and driving process improvements to ensure timely delivery of testing services. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience in a construction materials testing laboratory is a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise daily concrete cube testing operations.
• Ensure timely receipt, registration, curing, testing, and disposal of specimens.
• Monitor laboratory workload and allocate manpower efficiently.
• Ensure testing schedules meet contractual turnaround times.
• Review daily testing progress and resolve operational issues.
• Supervise and train laboratory technicians.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and client enquiries.

Job description

The Engineer is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Concrete Cube Testing Laboratory, ensuring all concrete cube samples are processed, cured, tested, and reported accurately in accordance with Singapore Standards, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and company quality procedures. The role includes laboratory supervision, technical oversight, resource planning, client coordination, and continuous process improvement to ensure timely delivery of testing services.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise daily concrete cube testing operations.
• Ensure timely receipt, registration, curing, testing, and disposal of concrete cube specimens.
• Monitor daily laboratory workload and allocate manpower efficiently.
• Ensure testing schedules meet contractual turnaround times.
• Review daily testing progress and resolve operational issues.
• Supervise and train laboratory technicians.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and client enquiries.
• Maintain laboratory records and support internal and external audits.

Key Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or a related displine with minimum 2 years of working experience
• Experience working in a construction materials testing laboratory will be an added advantage.
• Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3 or higher driving licence is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity to ISO 9001 andISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems will be be an added advantage
