Job summary

Amplify Health is seeking a senior technology leader to own the end-to-end engineering strategy for its SaaS, PaaS and DaaS platforms. You will lead cross-functional teams, scale capabilities across markets, and drive secure, scalable solutions into production.

You will partner with Product, Data & Analytics, and Business leaders to define and deliver the technology roadmap, champion engineering excellence, and build a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in scaling product teams.
• Proven track record delivering complex SaaS platforms in healthtech/insurtech/fintech.
• Experience building distributed engineering teams in high-growth environments.
• Strong experience with cloud-native, microservices, APIs, and data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related; MBA or equivalent is a plus.

Reporting to the Chief Technology & AI Officer, the Head of Product Engineering is a senior technology leader responsible for building and scaling Amplify Health’s product engineering capabilities across its SaaS, PaaS, and DaaS platforms. This role combines deep technical leadership with product-centric thinking to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable healthtech solutions.

You will own the end-to-end engineering strategy and execution for key products, partnering closely with Product, Data & Analytics, and Business leaders to define and deliver the technology roadmap.

As a hands-on leader, you will establish best-in-class engineering practices, build high-performing distributed teams, and ensure our platforms are architected for long-term scalability, quality, and innovation.

Responsibilities

1) Engineering Strategy & Product Delivery Ownership

• Own the engineering vision and product architecture across Amplify Health’s platform and products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

• Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle excellence, from design through deployment and continuous improvement.

• Partner with Product and Data teams to translate business priorities into executable technical roadmaps aligned to company strategy.

• Act as a hands-on technical leader for key strategic products, ensuring strong architectural foundations and high engineering standards.

2) Building World-Class Engineering Capability

• Build, lead, and scale high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams across multiple markets.

• Drive hiring, retention, and capability development strategies to strengthen engineering depth and leadership pipeline.

• Establish and embed best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, DevOps, testing automation, and secure coding.

• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

3) Engineering Excellence, Quality & Operational Performance

• Define and track engineering KPIs (e.g., velocity, quality, reliability, platform uptime) to continuously improve performance.

• Champion engineering efficiency, code quality, and platform optimisation to support rapid product innovation.

• Oversee system performance, scalability, and resilience, ensuring production stability and customer trust.

• Lead adoption of modern architectures (cloud-native, microservices, API-first) and engineering toolchains.

4) Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key partner to senior leadership in shaping technology strategy and investment priorities.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, Commercial, and Operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

• Serve as a bridge between product vision and engineering execution.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant leadership experience in scaling product engineering organisations.

• Proven track record of delivering complex SaaS platforms, ideally within healthtech, insurtech, fintech, or data-driven industries.

• Demonstrated success in building and leading distributed engineering teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

• Strong experience in modern architecture patterns (cloud-native, microservices, APIs, data platforms).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
