About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing, regulated fintech and Web3 payments company operating across Southeast Asia and Greater China, serving a diverse base of merchants, enterprise clients, and digital asset users. As Head of Marketing, you will own the company's brand and public presence end-to-end - building a single, coherent narrative that resonates simultaneously with B2B payments audiences, B2C users, and the broader Web3 and fintech community. This is a high-impact, full-stack marketing leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with full ownership of brand, PR, events, social media, community, and a team of three to five. If you thrive in a scale-up environment where strategy and execution happen in the same week, this role offers rare scope and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and steward the company's global brand positioning, messaging architecture, and tone of voice across all audiences - including merchants, enterprise partners, regulators, investors, and prospective talent; own brand guidelines and the design system to ensure consistency across all touchpoints
- Lead media strategy and manage PR agencies and freelancers across key markets; build and maintain relationships with tier-1 fintech, payments, crypto, and business media regionally and globally; plan and execute major announcements including spokesperson preparation and issues management in coordination with Legal and Compliance
- Own the annual events calendar - spanning major industry conferences, company-hosted events, merchant workshops, partner roundtables, and community meetups - and run each event end-to-end against pipeline and partnership outcomes, not attendance metrics
- Drive the company's social media presence across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and relevant regional platforms, including strategy, content calendar, always-on publishing, and paid social where ROI is clearly justified
- Build a content engine covering product education, regulatory explainers, merchant case studies, market commentary, and short-form video; grow followers, engagement, and inbound enquiries
- Develop and grow the merchant and partner community through ambassador programmes, referral loops, user groups, and online communities; convert merchants into brand advocates through co-marketing, testimonials, and joint campaigns; serve as the structured feedback loop from community into Product and Sales
- Position the CEO and senior leadership as thought leaders through speaking opportunities, bylines, panels, and podcasts
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of three to five across brand and design, content and social, and events; own the marketing budget, agency and vendor roster, and marketing technology stack; ensure all external communications meet MAS and other applicable regulatory marketing requirements
Requirements
- At least eight years of marketing experience, including a minimum of three years in a team leadership capacity, with a strong track record spanning brand, PR and media relations, events, social media, and community - this is a full-stack leadership role, not a single-channel specialist position
- Demonstrated experience marketing within a regulated financial services environment (fintech, payments, banking, or Web3 and digital assets), with confidence navigating compliance requirements
- Strong regional exposure across Southeast Asia and Greater China, with genuine understanding of local media landscapes, digital platforms, and cultural nuances
- Data-literate and commercially oriented - able to connect brand and community activity to measurable business outcomes such as pipeline, partnerships, and talent attraction
- Comfortable operating in a scale-up environment: equally able to write copy, brief a designer, staff a booth, and build a strategy deck within the same week; willingness to travel regionally on a regular basis
- Existing relationships with fintech and digital asset media or key opinion leaders (is a bonus)
- Experience launching a brand into a new market or jurisdiction, or marketing B2B merchant acquiring, cards, or stablecoin and payment infrastructure products (is a bonus)
