• Identify, measure, monitor and manage market risks arising from commodity prices, FX, interest rates, freight and other market variables.
• Collaborate with Trading, Origination, Treasury, Finance, Operations and senior management to ensure risk appetite is robust while enabling disciplined growth.
• Provide leadership in strategic risk management and quantitative market-risk expertise with strong commercial understanding of physical commodity businesses.

Our client, a well- established global commodities trading firm with a global presence is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The firm is looking for a Head of Market Risk to join them.

Role Purpose

The Head of Market Risk is responsible for providing independent oversight, challenge and strategic risk management of the company’s, origination, processing and supply-chain activities.

The role will lead the identification, measurement, monitoring and management of market risks arising from commodity prices, foreign exchange, interest rates, freight and other relevant market variables across the firm’s portfolio.

Working closely with Trading, Origination, Treasury, Finance, Operations and senior management, the Head of Market Risk will ensure that the business operates within a robust risk appetite while enabling disciplined growth, effective capital deployment and informed commercial decision-making.

The role combines strategic risk leadership, quantitative market-risk expertise and strong commercial understanding of physical commodity businesses.
