Job summary

We are seeking a Market Risk Analyst for a leading international commodities trading and energy merchant in Singapore. The role involves working closely with front office trading desks in a fast-paced, global environment covering physical and derivative commodity markets.

Key responsibilities include monitoring risk exposures, producing daily VaR and stress reports, and partnering with traders and risk managers to challenge exposures and improve risk controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/math or related quantitative discipline.
• Experience in market risk, risk analytics, quantitative risk, or product control within commodities, energy trading, investment banking, or financial markets.
• Strong understanding of VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, and position risk.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse market risk exposures across commodity trading portfolios.
• Produce daily risk reports including VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, and position monitoring.

• Monitor and analyse market risk exposures across commodity trading portfolios.


• Produce daily risk reports including VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, and position monitoring.

• Ensure compliance with risk limits, policies, and governance frameworks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.


• Experience in market risk, risk analytics, quantitative risk, or product control within commodities, energy trading, investment banking, or financial markets.


• Strong understanding of market risk concepts including VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, and position risk.


• Knowledge of commodity markets, derivatives, futures, options, and OTC products is advantageous.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.


• Experience with Python, VBA, SQL, or data visualisation tools would be beneficial.


• Ability to communicate effectively with traders and senior stakeholders.
