Job summary

Qualifications

• Retail leasing experience with a property owner, developer or retail REIT.
• Proven track record of originating, negotiating and closing leasing deals.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We are supporting a confidential search for a Head of Leasing based in Singapore. The opportunity is to help shape a distinctive retail offering by bringing in brands, developing retailer concepts and building partnerships that strengthen customer appeal and footfall.

This role will suit a commercially minded retail leasing leader who enjoys working directly with brands, spotting opportunities in the tenant mix and turning retailer interest into viable concepts and leasing agreements.

The Role

The role combines leasing leadership, retailer partnerships, concept development and commercial execution. You will connect tenant-mix strategy with brand acquisition and assess how each prospective tenant or concept fits the wider retail mix. You will lead the retailer discussions and commercial negotiations needed to turn those opportunities into agreements.

You will also lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with colleagues across marketing, fit-out and commercial analysis. This requires keeping retailer discussions, concept development and practical delivery aligned as opportunities progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop the retail leasing strategy and set brand-acquisition priorities that support customer appeal, footfall and commercial performance.
• Evaluate prospective tenants and concepts against the overall retail mix, identifying how brands can complement one another and strengthen the customer offer.
• Proactively identify and approach brands that could strengthen the retail offering, including luxury and mass-market tenants.
• Build relationships with retailer decision-makers, understand their expansion interests and progress initial contact into leasing discussions.
• Work directly with retailers to develop distinctive concepts and partnerships that give customers a reason to visit.
• Assess the commercial fit of proposed concepts and partnerships alongside leasing objectives and tenant-mix priorities.
• Lead leasing negotiations and progress opportunities through to deal closure.
• Analyse proposed commercial terms, balancing retailer requirements with leasing returns and the quality of the retail mix.
• Set priorities for the team and guide progress on new-brand acquisition and active leasing opportunities.
• Develop the team’s retailer engagement, concept assessment and negotiation skills.
• Coordinate with marketing, fit-out and commercial analysis colleagues to carry agreed concepts and leasing plans into delivery.
• Align the relevant teams on retailer requirements and next steps, working through issues that affect execution.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a retail leasing professional with a strong landlord-side track record and the ability to combine retailer relationships, concept development and commercial deal execution.
