This is a senior, standalone role with direct exposure to the regional CFO and senior leadership. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of complex projects across construction, civil infrastructure, data centres, energy, offshore and related sectors throughout Asia.

The position will suit a commercially minded insurance professional who can combine strategic programme oversight with practical involvement in tendering, contractual risk transfer, project insurance placement and complex claims.

The role Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of insurance activity across multiple Asian business units and project locations.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the design, placement, renewal and ongoing management of regional insurance programmes.
  • Oversee annual corporate and project-specific insurance arrangements across construction, infrastructure, data-centre, energy and offshore activities.
  • Advise senior stakeholders, project teams and commercial managers on insurance, claims and risk-transfer matters.
  • Support bids and tenders through insurance-cost modelling, coverage assessment, deductible recommendations and project-specific risk advice.
  • Review contractual insurance provisions, indemnities, liability clauses, subcontractor insurance obligations and other contractual-risk-transfer mechanisms.
  • Identify uninsured, uninsurable or commercially unacceptable exposures and recommend appropriate mitigants.
  • Manage and coordinate complex construction and project claims, including incident notification, insurer engagement, loss-adjuster management, recovery strategy and settlement support.
  • Work closely with external brokers, insurers, reinsurers, legal advisers and other specialist providers to secure appropriate terms, pricing and claims outcomes.
  • Develop consistent insurance procedures, claims protocols, reporting and governance across regional projects and operating businesses.
  • Provide practical guidance to project teams following incidents, accidents, losses or potential insurance events.

Candidate profile We are interested in speaking with insurance and risk professionals who combine strong technical capability with commercial judgement and stakeholder-management skills.

You are likely to bring:
  • Around 8-15 years of relevant experience in insurance, risk, construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy, offshore or project-led businesses.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project insurance, including Contractor's All Risks, Erection All Risks, liability, employer's liability/workers' compensation, professional indemnity, plant/equipment, marine cargo and related covers.
  • Experience managing insurance programmes across multiple countries, ideally within Asia-Pacific.
  • Demonstrable construction claims experience, including material losses, coverage interpretation, insurer negotiations and recovery processes.
  • Practical experience in contractual risk transfer, contract insurance clauses, indemnities, subcontractor insurance requirements and project-risk review.
  • Exposure to tender-stage insurance pricing, project-insurance budgeting and commercial risk assessment.
  • The confidence to advise senior leaders while working directly with Project Directors, Commercial Managers, Legal, Finance and Operations teams.
  • Strong broker, insurer and external-adviser management capability.
  • The ability to work independently in a senior sole-contributor role.
Relevant candidates may currently work in:
  • Major contractors, engineering businesses, EPC companies or infrastructure groups.
  • Construction, civil engineering, rail, tunnelling, energy, oil and gas, offshore or data-centre businesses.
  • Regional insurance, project-risk or commercial-risk functions.
  • Construction-specialty broking, project-risk advisory or engineering insurance, where accompanied by strong commercial and contractual-risk exposure.
  • Large project-led developers or industrial businesses with substantial construction and insurance requirements.

A background combining insurance expertise with legal, contracts, commercial or project-risk experience would be highly regarded.

Location: The role can be based in Singapore or Hong Kong. Regional travel may be required depending on project, tender and claims activity.
