Job summary

Cimic Group is seeking an experienced Insurance leader to manage and optimise APAC insurance programmes across its construction and infrastructure portfolio. You will develop strategies, oversee major claims, and support tender submissions with risk pricing and compliance.

This role requires deep knowledge of construction insurance products, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate with insurers, brokers, and project teams across multiple jurisdictions in Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate insurance, risk management, construction insurance, or insurance brokerage.

  • Lead and manage the Group's APAC insurance programmes, ensuring adequate coverage, cost effectiveness, and compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain insurance strategies supporting construction, infrastructure, and engineering operations.
  • Manage CAR, EAR, PI, Public Liability, Marine Cargo, Workers' Compensation policies.
  • Oversee major construction claims handling and resolution with insurers, brokers, and project teams.
  • Support tender submissions with insurance pricing, risk assessment, and contract compliance.

Job description

Job Duties
  • Lead and manage the Group's insurance programmes across Asia Pacific, ensuring adequate coverage, cost effectiveness, and compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain insurance strategies that support the Group's construction, infrastructure, and engineering operations.
  • Manage construction-related insurance policies including Contractors All Risks (CAR), Erection All Risks (EAR), Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, Marine Cargo, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Insurances relating to vessels and off shore works
  • Oversee the handling and resolution of major construction claims, liaising with insurers, brokers, legal advisors, loss adjusters, and project teams.
  • Provide insurance and risk management support during tender submissions, including insurance cost estimation, pricing reviews, and bid risk assessments.
  • Advise project teams on contractual risk transfer provisions, insurance requirements, indemnities, and liability clauses during contract negotiations.
  • Monitor insurance market trends and recommend appropriate risk financing and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals, policy placements, insurer negotiations, and broker performance management.
  • Review and analyse project-specific insurance requirements to ensure contractual compliance and adequate coverage.
  • Develop insurance governance frameworks, reporting standards, and claims management procedures across the Group.
  • Conduct insurance and risk management training for project, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Prepare insurance reports, claims updates, and risk exposure analyses for senior management.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate insurance, risk management, construction insurance, or insurance brokerage.
  • Proven experience managing regional or APAC insurance programmes within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of construction insurance products including CAR, EAR, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Marine Cargo, and Directors & Officers Liability.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex construction claims and dispute resolution processes.
  • Sound understanding of contractual risk transfer principles, contract review, indemnity provisions, and insurance clauses.
  • Experience supporting tender submissions with insurance pricing, risk assessment, and contractual insurance compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of project risk management and insurance requirements for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Experience working with multinational insurers, brokers, legal counsels, and external stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities across different countries.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and insurance reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel within Asia Pacific as required.
