Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking an AVP, Content Design to shape how we communicate with customers across digital products. You will transform complex information into clear, useful content for interfaces, apps, websites, emails and chat experiences.

You will lead governance, research and writing across moments that matter, ensuring consistent voice, tone and accessibility while aligning with regulatory constraints. This role requires 4+ years in content design and a strong portfolio.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in content design, UX writing or content strategy.
• Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Linguistics, Information Science, Design or related field.
• Strong portfolio showing how content impacts user outcomes.
• Able to write for conversational and AI-assisted experiences with research backing.
• Experience with content management systems, taxonomy and metadata.
• Balance plain language with regulatory constraints.
• Defend content decisions to stakeholders with evidence.

Responsibilities

• Establish content governance by applying standards, style guides and terminology.
• Plan and run content research to understand customer needs and language.
• Plan, write and edit across formats — apps, websites, emails, notifications, chat.
• Craft UX writing to enable self-service completion of tasks.
• Test content with real users and iterate based on evidence.
• Prioritize moments that have high customer impact (errors, declines, claims).
• Apply design-system content patterns consistently and improve them where gaps exist.
• Define formats that best communicate content (illustrations, videos, infographics).
• Apply brand voice and tone to fit each moment for a positive impression.
• Structure content for modularity and cross-platform access.
• Describe content with metadata and controlled terms for findability.
• Make navigation and information architecture intuitive for users and AI agents.
• Write accessible content with plain language and useful link text.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate content in UX.
• Track content performance post-launch and act on data.
