Job summary

ANTARES MANAGEMENT SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Head Coach to guide the academy’s technical direction, curriculum, coaching team, and competitive programme.

You will develop structured programmes for all levels, recruit and supervise instructors, oversee safety and member experience, and work with management on growth and operating performance.

This role requires a long track record in BJJ coaching, leadership, and the ability to work evenings and competition periods.

Qualifications

• IBJJF recognised Brazilian Jiu Jitsu third degree black belt with valid certification and verifiable lineage.
• Ten years of professional BJJ coaching experience, including at least five years in a Head Coach/Academy Director leadership role.
• Proven track record establishing, managing or expanding a complete BJJ academy with youth, adult, recreational and competition programmes.
• Experience assessing and promoting students across multiple belt levels and endorsing higher rank applications.
• Competition experience at black belt level and preparing athletes for national or international competitions.
• Strong leadership, communication, programme management and safety skills; availability for evenings, weekends and competition periods; first aid/CPR/AED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage the academy’s curriculum, class structure, grading framework, coaching standards, and operating procedures.
• Develop structured programmes for children, adults, beginners, advanced students, and competitive athletes.
• Conduct group classes, private coaching, seminars, grading assessments, and competition training.
• Assess students, conduct stripe and belt promotions, and endorse higher rank applications per IBJJF requirements.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and instructors.
• Establish and lead the academy’s competition programme, including athlete selection, training camps, competition preparation, and event coaching.
• Manage class schedules, coaching manpower, student records, training equipment, and day to day academy operations.
• Monitor attendance, student progression, membership retention, class capacity, private training, and programme performance.
• Work with management on membership growth, events, revenue planning, operating costs, and academy development.
• Maintain high standards of safety, safeguarding, discipline, cleanliness, member service, and professional conduct.

Requirements

1. Must hold an IBJJF recognised Brazilian Jiu Jitsu third degree black belt, supported by valid degree certification, active non provisional membership, and verifiable lineage.
2. At least ten years of professional BJJ coaching experience, including at least five years as a Head Coach, Head Professor, Academy Director, or in a similar leadership role.
3. Proven experience establishing, managing, or expanding a complete BJJ academy with youth, adult, recreational, and competition programmes.
4. Verifiable experience assessing and promoting students across multiple belt levels, including developing advanced students and endorsing higher rank applications.
5. Verifiable competition experience at black belt level and a record of preparing athletes for recognised national or international competitions.
6. Strong leadership, communication, programme management, and safety skills, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and competition periods when required. Current first aid, CPR, and AED certification is preferred.
