Job summary

GYG Head Chef role in Singapore leads the kitchen, drives consistent food quality, speed and standards, and hands-on during service. You’ll ensure recipes are followed, prep is ready for peak periods and the team works efficiently to deliver great results.

You’ll recruit, train and develop staff, manage stock and costs, uphold safety, and collaborate with the Restaurant Manager on labour and COGS. Competitive salary and bonuses apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen role in a high-volume hospitality environment.
• Experience leading and developing a kitchen team.
• Strong food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations knowledge.
• Experience managing stock, wastage and kitchen costs.
• Good communication and people management skills.
• Commercial cookery qualification or relevant kitchen experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the kitchen team.
• Plan daily kitchen operations and prep for service.
• Ensure all food follows GYG recipes, portions and quality standards.
• Manage stock, ordering, receiving and storage.
• Keep kitchen and work areas clean, safe and well maintained.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of kitchen crew.
• Work with Restaurant Manager to manage labour, COGS and operating costs.
