Reports to - Group Finance Controller, with functional accountability to the Group Finance Director.
Ownership of the full set of accounts along with the group-level schedules supporting consolidation, the board pack and statutory audit. This is a hands-on role covering month-end close, statutory reporting and financial controls for the group's head-office entity. As the sole accountant, you will be fully accountable for accurate, first-time-right numbers and maintaining a robust statutory file that stands up to audit without rework.
Key responsibilities
Financial reporting and month-end close
- Own the full set of accounts: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Deliver month-end close in accordance with group reporting calendar and submit the entity pack and supporting schedules to group consolidation without rework.
- Own intercompany discipline for the entity: intercompany billing, management fee recharges, AP/AR contra entries, and agreement of balances with each counterparty before submission.
- Account for cash concentration interest and the related withholding tax, with the treatment agreed with the tax advisor and documented.
- Prepare and publish the group monthly exchange rates used across group reporting. (this is normally under Treasury Manager function)
- Coordinate the monthly pre-close and forecast submissions from country finance team where the group-level schedule depends on them and hold contributors to the deadline.
- Quarterly forecasting for Holding company & Annual budget exercise.
Group schedules and analysis
- Prepare and control the group-level schedules required for reporting and governance: SG&A and headcount cost analysis, entertainment expenditure, transition and adjusting items, and corporate card expenditure.
- Prepare the recharge of shared and head-office costs and to the operating entities, supported by clear cost detail and agreed with the receiving entity.
- Provide accurate financial data for group programmes such as insurance renewals, banking submissions and adviser fee negotiations.
Statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance
- Manage the statutory audit end to end: prepare the audit file, resolve auditor queries, and deliver draft financial statements that foot, cross-reference and disclose correctly before they reach the Group Finance Director for signature.
- Own the corporate secretarial cycle with the outsourced provider: AGM documents, directors' resolutions, minutes and statutory filings.
- Manage Singapore tax compliance with the external adviser: corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax, and BEPS 2.0 Pillar Two registration and filing obligations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation throughout the year and support internal audit and any control remediation.
Payments and controls
- Act as approver in the group banking platforms within the delegation of authority, verifying supporting documentation before release.
- Maintain the vendor master and vendor banking-detail verification for the entity to the group standard.
- Apply segregation of duties and month-end review disciplines as documented in group finance policy and flag any breach.
Candidate requirements
- Degree in accounting; qualified or finalist-level professional accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or MICPA).
- Five or more years of experience owning a full set of accounts through to statutory audit in a multi-entity, multi-currency group.
- Working command of Singapore FRS and IFRS, and of Singapore statutory, corporate tax, GST and withholding tax compliance. This is non-negotiable: the entity is Singapore-incorporated and audited.
- Demonstrated experience of intercompany accounting and cross-border recharges between group entities.
- Strong Excel; ERP-literate and comfortable operating within a group consolidation submission process.
- Precise and self-managing, and willing to chase across countries and time zones to close a schedule.

- Experience of a holding or head-office entity as distinct from a trading entity.
- Private-equity-owned or group head-office environment.
- Energy services, engineering or project-based industry exposure.
- Evidence-led communicator; escalates with a recommendation, not just a problem.
- Ownership without supervision: this is the only accountant for the entity, and the month end closing activities does not get done by anyone else.
- Numbers that foot the first time, and schedules that reconcile to the General ledger.
- Composure across time zones: group leadership are based in Houston, Singapore and the Middle East.
