Job summary

CATL is seeking a Technical Design Manager/Engineer to support our Grid and Project Development Teams across Asia, with a home-based option. You will own end-to-end grid interconnection, compliance and integration for utility-scale BESS projects, engaging TSOs/DSOs and external consultants.

You will lead studies, supervise FAT/SAT, and coordinate with development, engineering and commercial teams to deliver bankable grid solutions while tracking regulatory changes and risks across multiple

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
PE/Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in grid interconnection for utility-scale renewable assets (BESS).
Proven track record delivering grid connection projects from origination through energisation and COD.
Strong knowledge of power system fundamentals, HV infrastructure, protection and control, and IBR grid dynamics.

Responsibilities

Lead grid interconnection lifecycle and manage interconnection submissions with TSOs/DSOs.
Evaluate grid connection offers and assess reinforcement requirements and costs.
Oversee power system studies and ensure timely completion.
Ensure BESS design and controls comply with grid codes.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to embed grid constraints into designs.
Track regulatory updates and build internal grid guidance.
Maintain milestone trackers and report risks to leadership.
