Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is seeking a software engineer to design and implement high-performance network services. You will work on traffic software, DNS servers, L4/L7 proxies, web caching, and FaaS runtimes within a multi-cloud platform.

You will build data pipelines, telemetry systems, and APIs to accelerate networking services while tuning for terabyte-scale traffic. Requires CS/CE degree and strong C/C++/Rust and Linux skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience in developing network systems in Rust, C, C++, and/or Go in Linux environment.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS.
• Familiarity with Microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features of traffic software (DNS Server, L4 and L7 Proxy, Web Caching, and FaaS Runtime).
• Build data pipelines and telemetry systems for real-time traffic control.
• Develop API acceleration and other networking services on a multi-cloud traffic platform.
• Problem solving and performance tuning for online traffic.
• Research new technologies for scalable traffic processing.
