Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is seeking a traffic solution engineer and DevOps expert to design, deploy, and maintain flexible proxy services across global data centers outside China, aligning with business needs and operational realities.

You will prototype solutions, build observability pipelines, triage incidents, and document patterns to accelerate delivery, requiring strong networking, cloud tooling, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Strong understanding of OSI layers 4-7: TCP/UDP, HTTP/1.1/2, TLS, DNS, WebSocket.
• Hands-on proxy experience with Nginx, Envoy, HAProxy, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain flexible proxy service deployments with complex routing and access control.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into deployable proxy solutions on cloud and in-house platforms.
• Prototype traffic solutions to validate approaches and speed delivery.
• Build observability pipelines for logs, metrics, and usage analysis for stakeholders.
• Serve as first contact for incidents related to traffic services and coordinate resolutions.
• Document patterns and configurations to accelerate future delivery and onboarding.
