Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is hiring a Software Engineer for the Data Management Suite team. You will build a large-scale data platform, focusing on ingest, development, catalog, security, and governance. Expect to work on core systems across the platform with global impact.

You will design a unified data development platform, manage distributed states, and develop a high-performance scheduling system while collaborating with teams worldwide. Regular onboarding by year-end is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with at least one backend language such as Java, Go or Python.
• Strong foundation in software development, data structures, and algorithms.
• Exposure to software design and architecture, testing and launching software.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot; exposure to big data tech such as Hadoop, ClickHouse and Flink.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified data development platform to improve efficiency for global data producers.
• Explore approaches to managing distributed states and syncing metadata across regions.
• Design and develop a high-performance distributed scheduling system for large-scale tasks.
• Collaborate with partner teams around the world.
• Develop integrations with other systems in the big data ecosystem.
