Job summary

ByteDance invites talented interns to join the Traffic Infrastructure Global Engineering team. You will help design and implement high-performance network services such as DNS, L4/L7 proxies, and web caching across a multi-cloud platform, serving billions of users globally.

The role offers hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to participate in workshops and learning programs alongside professionals.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master's in software development, CS, or related technical discipline.
Experience in developing network systems in Rust, C, C++, or Go, with Linux proficiency.
Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS protocols.
Familiarity with Microservice architecture and container orchestration.
Experience with cloud-based large-scale network services is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop features of traffic software (DNS server, L4/L7 proxy, web caching, FaaS runtime).
Build data pipelines and telemetry to support data-driven traffic control.
Develop API acceleration and other networking services on a multi-cloud platform.
Tackle performance tuning and problem solving for high traffic loads.
Research new technologies for scalable traffic processing.
