Job summary

Canaan Inc. is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs/Public Relations professional in Singapore to develop and drive strategies aligned with business priorities and regulatory trends in APAC.

You will act as a key liaison with government officials, industry groups, and media, delivering clear briefings and compelling presentations to regulators and stakeholders while expanding relationships across geographies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields.
• 5+ years in government affairs, corporate communications or public relations.
• Proven ability to develop external communication strategies across geographies.
• Strong writing, research, analysis and presentation skills.
• Excellent English and Mandarin written/spoken abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies supporting business priorities and public policy agenda.
• Serve as a primary contact with government officials and industry stakeholders in Singapore and APAC.
• Advise on regulatory developments and policy issues affecting Singapore and APAC.
• Collaborate with government officials, respond to inquiries, and prepare briefings and presentations.
• Build and manage relationships with media in Singapore and support global media relationships.

Job description

• Develop and execute strategies in support of the business priorities and public policy agenda.
• Key point of contact with government officials, industry stakeholders, trade associations, in Singapore and proactively identifies opportunities to deepen relationships with key government stakeholders across the APAC region.
• Provide clear advice on regulatory developments and policy issues related to business interests in Singapore and APAC region
• Experience in collaborating with government officials, responding to regulatory enquiries, writing briefings, preparing and delivering presentations to regulators, government officials and industry associations.
• Build and manage relationships with relevant media stakeholders in Singapore, and support Global Head in managing media relationships across global priority markets.
• Represent the company in external meetings with the media and private/public sector communication partners.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields.
• At least 5 years of working experience in a government affairs program/ corporate communications or public relations (other relevant disciplines can be considered).
• Strong track record in developing and implementing external communication strategies/campaigns across multiple geographies.
• Strong research, analysis, writing and presentation skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Consultative approach, outcome focused and data driven.
• Ability to multi-task and have exceptional attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong command of both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required.
• Knowledge of additional languages, such as Bahasa Malaysia, is a strong advantage.
