Job summary

VALENCY INTERNATIONAL TRADING PTE. LTD is seeking a Management Trainee to support Trade Operations, finance-related activities, and strategic projects in a fast-paced commodity trading environment in Singapore.

You will assist with end-to-end trade processes, documentation, and performance reporting while gaining exposure to business transformation initiatives. You will collaborate with Trading, Finance, Logistics and procurement teams, develop dashboards, and participate in process

Qualifications

• Masters qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management with 0-1 year of related experience.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of business operations, financial concepts, and process management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with reporting tools and data visualization platforms would be an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work with cross-functional teams, and deliver within agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end trade operations from contract execution to shipment, documentation, delivery, and settlement.
• Coordinate with Trading, Finance, Logistics, Shipping, Procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of trade transactions.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining trade documentation, including contracts, invoices and shipping documents.
• Monitor shipment schedules, delivery timelines, contractual obligations, and outstanding operational requirements.
• Track trade transactions and follow up on pending documentation and discrepancies.
• Support reconciliation of trade records and resolve operational discrepancies with relevant teams.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, approval matrices, and established trade control procedures.
• Maintain accurate trade records, trackers, and management reports.
• Support business transformation initiatives and strategic projects for the desk.
• Prepare presentations, dashboards, and management reports for leadership review.
