Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a lead developer in Singapore to guide a globally distributed team. You will drive the platform forwards, own technical delivery, and ensure high quality across backend and frontend components within the Financial Markets domain.

The role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and hands-on coding across modern web tech, Java/Spring Boot, and containerized microservices, with a focus on latency-sensitive, real-time systems.

Qualifications

10+ years of full stack engineering with deep frontend or backend expertise.
Proven technical leadership in agile product development.
Strong knowledge of React, Redux, RX JS, NPM/Yarn, webpack, CSS/HTML.
Proficient in Java and Spring Boot; reactive programming knowledge is a plus.
Experience with microservices, containers, cloud, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

Lead a globally distributed team and drive platform delivery.
Own technical design, roadmap, and code quality within the stream.
Oversee designs and ensure alignment with roadmaps and velocity targets.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, PMs, and stakeholders across locations.
Coach peers and participate in hiring and process improvements.
