Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Singapore is seeking an Ocean Freight Tender Manager to lead end-to-end RFQs for strategic global ocean freight opportunities. You will translate customer needs into competitive tender responses coordinating across Commercial, OFR trade, region and product stakeholders.

The role drives bid quality, pricing, governance and handover to implementation, working with cross-functional teams to secure profitable growth and maintain DHL's market leadership in ocean freight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 6+ years in Ocean Freight forwarding industry.
• At least 4 years in tender management or pricing leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of RFQ processes and Ocean Freight operations.
• Advanced analytical and conceptual skills; strong Excel proficiency.
• Ability to negotiate and influence internally and externally.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement capabilities.
• Ability to work across cultures and travel internationally (approx. 20%).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tender management for strategic global ocean freight RFQs from qualification through submission, clarification, award and handover.
• Coordinate inputs across Commercial, OFR Trade, Country Growth teams, pricing contributors and product stakeholders to ensure one DHL response.
• Translate customer requirements into competitive pricing instructions and executable solutions.
• Own tender content quality, pricing files and documentation, ensuring compliance with templates and timelines.
• Support win strategy development and provide SME input on market dynamics, lanes and solution design.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of tender governance, tools and processes.
