Job summary

Vans, a VF Corporation brand, seeks a Manager, Global Materials Library in Singapore to lead a small team of fabric developers and manage the centralized materials library across brands. You will drive material lifecycle strategies, maintain physical and digital libraries, and enable cross-brand collaboration with sourcing, product development, and sustainability teams.

You will oversee library operations, data governance, and analytics to optimize material usage, costs, and sustainability

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of fabric types, construction, finishing, and performance characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Library Operations & Lifecycle Management: Manage circulation, inventory, and lifecycle planning of materials.
• Ensure physical libraries are maintained in strategic global locations and accessible to product teams.
• Oversee evaluation of material quality and performance for sustainability, innovation, and cost goals.
• Conduct regular audits to identify material overlaps and opportunities for consolidation.
• Lead and develop a team of 1–2 fabric developers with coaching and feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture supporting innovation.
• Align team activities with strategic direction from Director and Senior Manager.
• Support standardized processes to rationalize material development requests and reduce redundancies.
• Maintain metadata and data attributes to enable material consolidation and strategic leverage.
• Participate in seasonal/core material reviews to assess relevance and usage.
• Collaborate with brand teams, sourcing, product development, and sustainability teams.
• Support Tier 2 mill matrix strategy and supplier alignment initiatives.
• Maintain and update digital material library platforms and databases.
• Develop analytics tools to track material utilization, performance, and cost efficiency.
