Job summary

Direct Search Global in Singapore seeks an experienced EIT Manager to lead Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunication engineering activities for ship repair, shipbuilding, conversion and marine offshore projects.

You will manage design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance, ensure compliance with project specifications and classification society rules, and coordinate with naval architecture, mechanical, piping and other disciplines to deliver safe, on-time, within-budget

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering.
• Experience in electrical, instrumentation and telecommunication engineering within shipyard, marine, offshore or shipbuilding industries.
• Proven experience leading EIT engineering teams and overseeing project execution.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, power generation and distribution, instrumentation, automation, control systems, and telecommunication equipment.
• Familiarity with shipboard systems and classification society requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunication department for shipyard projects.
• Oversee EIT systems for repair, newbuilding, conversion and offshore projects.
• Review electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, cable schedules, and system designs.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, marine standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage manpower planning, resource allocation, schedules and budgets.
• Supervise EIT installation, testing, commissioning and rectification activities.
• Liaise with shipowners, consultants, classification societies and suppliers on technical matters.
• Monitor progress, resolve technical issues and minimise delays and costs.
• Ensure health and safety, quality standards and shipyard procedures.
• Review technical submissions, material requirements and risk assessments.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure work aligns with drawings and timelines.
• Support tendering with technical input and cost assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, safety and quality.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians within EIT.
