Job summary

Foodmax in Singapore seeks an experienced procurement professional for end-to-end fresh produce sourcing. You will manage supplier networks, develop multiple channels for key SKUs, and respond rapidly to stock shortages while balancing freshness and cost.

You will oversee negotiations, onboarding of suppliers and coordination with warehouse and sales to optimize inventory and margins in a fast-paced environment. Five years of experience in fresh produce procurement is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on procurement/sourcing experience in fresh produce.
• Strong existing supplier network across Singapore and regional markets.
• Proven ability to source urgently and replenish when needed.
• Experience in multi-source procurement and supplier diversification.
• Experience with direct farm procurement, wholesalers or importers preferred.
• Solid understanding of fresh produce specifications, seasonality and lead times.
• Familiar with end-to-end procurement processes including supplier development and price negotiation.
• Strong commercial and data analytic capabilities to balance cost, quality and availability.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of fresh produce, locally and internationally.
• Build and maintain sourcing networks with farms, importers, wholesalers, and distributors.
• Develop multiple sourcing channels for key SKUs to ensure supply continuity.
• Respond quickly to out-of-stock situations with alternative suppliers or origins.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate and onboard new suppliers based on criteria.
• Diversify supplier portfolio and maintain backup suppliers for critical products.
• Manage procurement costs while balancing quality, freshness and supply stability.
• Monitor market conditions, seasonality and country-of-origin changes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Sales and Operations on inventory and demand forecasts.
• Develop warehousing and distribution solutions to maintain freshness and reduce loss.
• Monitor purchasing and selling prices to support margin targets.
