Job summary

Foodmax is seeking a Senior Meat Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to own the self-operated meat category in Singapore. You will buy directly from suppliers across Singapore and select international origins, building a resilient supply base that supports category sales and margins.

The role requires 8+ years in meat procurement, an established supplier network, and strong negotiation/analytical skills. Mandarin/Malay skills are a plus as you collaborate with regional partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on experience in meat procurement or sourcing.
• Established meat supplier network in Singapore.
• Sourcing connections in Malaysia, China or other meat-exporting countries preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Singapore meat import regulations, SFA accreditation, health certificates and Halal certification.
• Proven track record in urgent sourcing and multi-origin procurement.
• End-to-end procurement knowledge: supplier development, price negotiation, orders & payment terms.
• Strong commercial/analytical skills; proficient in Excel or data tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Mandarin and/or Malay proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute meat sourcing strategy for beef, pork, poultry, lamb and processed meat in chilled and frozen formats.
• Own category assortment, pricing tiers, core SKUs and origin mix; manage sales, margin and profitability targets.
• Lead supplier selection, sourcing, price benchmarking, negotiation and POs; manage inbound and payment terms.
• Reduce costs via supplier agreements, price locks and volume consolidation while maintaining quality.
• Expand sourcing to Malaysia, China and other approved origins; pursue direct sourcing where feasible.
• Maintain multiple suppliers/origins to mitigate risk and respond to stock-outs or demand spikes.
• Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Operations and Finance for forecasts, inventory and replenishment.
• Design cold-chain warehousing/distribution to protect quality and safety; mentor junior buyers.
