Job summary

PayerMax is leading the charge in global card acquiring, steering Principal Membership with Visa and Mastercard and shaping the scheme governance framework. This senior role demands extensive cross-border experience and a proven track record in scalable, compliant card processing across regions.

The candidate will oversee partnerships, regulatory strategy, and operational excellence while expanding the global acquiring ecosystem from Singapore, with potential for Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in international card acquiring, processing, or scheme operations (Visa, Mastercard, or acquirer organizations).
• Proven success obtaining and maintaining Principal Memberships and managing scheme relationships at scale.
• Deep expertise in acquiring lifecycle operations—authorization, settlement, disputes, and compliance.
• Strong regulatory and stakeholder management capability, including communication with card schemes, regulators, and senior management.
• Proven experience in BIN sponsorship, merchant risk management, and cross border scheme compliance.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on operational ability, excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business/finance; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end strategy and execution for Visa/Mastercard Principal Membership, including setup, compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and expand strategic partnerships with card schemes, acquirers, processors to strengthen PayerMax's global acquiring ecosystem.
• Oversee scheme compliance and operational readiness for international card acquiring flows.
• Advise senior leadership and cross-functional teams on scheme rules, interchange optimization, settlement frameworks, and chargeback protocols.
• Drive acquiring performance enhancements—optimizing approval rates, cost efficiency, and fraud mitigation across regions.
• Represent PayerMax in scheme governance and network committees, influencing policy and standards at regional/global levels.
• Identify and execute strategic expansion initiatives, forging partnerships with new processors, ISOs, and acquiring partners.
• Lead offline POS acquiring expansion, merchant acquisition, terminal deployment, routing optimization, settlement management.
