Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Singapore is seeking a Geotechnical/Tunnels Engineer - Intern for a 20-week contract starting January 2027. You will join a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to engineering analysis, design calculations in geotechnical/underground disciplines, and support transport infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and the use of BIM tools and engineering software such as Plaxis and Geostudio, with additional exposure to Python and Excel VBA.

Qualifications

• 3rd year Civil Engineering student
• Good interpersonal & presentation skills
• Knowledge of Python and Excel VBA is a plus

You will be part of a multi‑cultural and multi‑disciplinary team and your job description includes:

• Engineering analysis, design and preparation of calculations in the geotechnical/soil/underground engineering discipline.
• Working on transport infrastructure projects (aviation, mixed‑use developments, instituitional, commercial etc) and opportunity on cross‑discipline projects.
• Being involved with BIM tools and automated designs on engineering analysis software (for eg Plaxis, Geostudio etc ).
• Coordinating with and between disciplines

About You:

• 3rd year student, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Good interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
• Good team player with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of technical software & coding applications (for eg Python, Excel VBA etc) is an advantage
