Job summary

Wintech Nano-Technology Services Pte Ltd is seeking a General Failure Analysis Engineer / Senior Engineer in Singapore to lead device failure investigations. The role involves sample preparation, ion milling and FIB, plus SEM/EDX/2D-3D X-ray analyses and data interpretation.

The candidate should hold a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Material Science with 2+ years of relevant experience, and be capable of independent FA work while collaborating with a team.

Qualifications

• At least a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Material Science, Science & Technology, etc.
• 2+ years of relevant working experience preferred.

• Able to perform FA study independently and work well in teams.
• Maintain good 6S practice during daily operation.
• FA techniques experience (sample prep, X-ray, SEM, FIB) would be a bonus.
• Experience in Wafer Fab/Semiconductor/LED/Solar/HDD industries would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Perform general failure analysis and investigations on devices and materials.
• Prepare samples using cross section, parallel lapping, and chemical decapsulation; utilize ion milling, FIB, and other prep methods.
• Conduct analyses with SEM, EDX, and 2D/3D X-ray and interpret results.
• Communicate with customers to select analytical techniques and data interpretation.
• Prepare analytical reports documenting findings and recommendations.
• Assist in developing new failure analysis techniques.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and maintain lab housekeeping.

Job Description:

• General Failure Analysis Engineer

• Perform sample preparation (cross section, parallel lapping, chemical decapsulation), use of ion miller, FIB and other preparation techniques;

• Perform failure analysis using various tools and instruments such as SEM, EDX, 2D/3D X-ray;

• Communicate with customer for selecting proper analytical technique and data interpretation;

• Prepare analytical reports;

• Assist in new failure analysis techniques development;

• Perform routine instrument preventive maintenance and laboratory housekeeping
