Rio Tinto in Singapore is seeking a Senior Analyst on a six-month contract to elevate freight market analytics. You will enhance supply-demand modelling, forecasting tools, and market reports to support commercial decisions across the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement, Marine & Logistics Market Analysis, you will lead model development, translate data into insights, and partner with global teams to shape freight strategy.

Competenze

• University degree in either a technical or commercial discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in dry bulk shipping, freight, commodity research or analytics.
• Experience building or maintaining market models and forecasts.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to translate data into clear insights.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint with modelling experience.
• Willingness to learn new tools and platforms.
• Experience using AI tools and coding to automate workflows.

Mansioni

• Lead development and enhancement of dry bulk freight models linking flows and fleet.
• Create a forward-looking freight demand framework by commodity and class.
• Build vessel supply and capacity models considering fleet growth and speeds.
• Develop short- and mid-term freight market outlooks and risks.
• Produce regular freight market reports and executive briefings.
• Collaborate with commercial, shipping, commodity and analytics teams.
• Document methods and ensure tools remain robust beyond the contract.
