Job summary

AUSTEN MARITIME SERVICES PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Repair & Life Extension Superintendent to lead FPSO repair, refurbishment, life extension and redeployment programs. You will provide technical leadership, oversee engineering and construction, and ensure work is safe, on schedule and within budget.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with clients and contractors, drive continuous improvement, and uphold HSE, quality, and regulatory standards throughout project execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of offshore oil & gas or FPSO project experience.
• Proven experience delivering major repair, refurbishment, or life extension projects.
• Experience managing engineering teams on complex offshore assets.
• Experience working with EPC/EPCI contractors and client organisations.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction practices, HSE requirements, and project controls.
• HNC or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control or related discipline).
• Significant experience in FPSO, offshore oil & gas, marine, or heavy industrial projects.
• Extensive experience leading repair, refurbishment, brownfield modifications, or life extension projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of offshore construction, commissioning, and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for FPSO repair, refurbishment, life extension, and redeployment activities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership throughout the engineering and construction phases.
• Ensure project milestones, schedules, budgets, and quality objectives are achieved.
• Drive a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on continuous improvement.
• Coordinate engineering activities to support construction, commissioning, and redeploy-ment.
• Review, approve, and monitor engineering deliverables and work packs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures.
• Monitor construction progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
• Resolve technical and operational issues affecting project execution.
• Act as the primary engineering interface with clients, project management teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Chair regular progress meetings and technical reviews.
• Communicate project status, key risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management and clients.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans aligned with project objectives.
• Monitor engineering and construction progress against schedule.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and client review.
• Ensure accurate reporting of project performance indicators.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.
• Forecast engineering resource requirements and project costs.
• Support commercial teams in evaluating variations and claims.
• Manage engineering changes through the formal Management of Change (MoC) process.
• Prepare and process change requests and variation documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of scope changes and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
• Update construction scope to reflect evolving project requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
• Ensure engineering and construction activities comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and legislation.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes throughout project execution.
