Job summary

Nas Company is recruiting a Founding Data Engineer to own and evolve our data platform end to end. You will inherit an existing stack, stabilise what works, fix what doesn’t, and define the next generation of our data platform for a fast‑moving startup.

You will own pipelines, improve data quality, model business metrics, and partner with analysts and leaders across the company. This role requires strong data engineering fundamentals and an AI‑native mindset to accelerate solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering or related roles.
• Built production‑ready data infrastructure in startup/fast‑moving environment.
• Pragmatic technology stack selection balancing speed, cost, scalability, maintenance.
• Strong data modeling and engineering fundamentals for production pipelines.
• Attention to data quality, reliability, efficiency, and cost across the platform.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and own end‑to‑end data solutions.
• AI-native mindset leveraging AI to accelerate engineering, investigations, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own pipelines connecting operational sources to the data warehouse.
• Improve data quality, reliability, and maintainability through testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Design data models and metrics to understand performance, product usage, and growth.
• Partner with Data Analysts and stakeholders across Product, Finance, Ops, Engineering, and leadership.
• Build a practical data intelligence platform for trusted data access across teams.
• Manage performance and cost with pragmatic infrastructure decisions for a fast‑moving startup.
• Investigate business opportunities and help teams make data‑driven decisions.
