Nscale is building the operational platform for the next generation of AI. We are seeking an experienced Foundry Engineer to design ontologies, build scalable data pipelines, and deliver production-grade solutions in Palantir Foundry.

You will partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Product, Finance, and Commercial teams to translate complex operational problems into trusted data products that power infrastructure decisions and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Foundry Engineer to help build the operational platform that powers Nscale.

This is not a traditional data engineering role but instead follows a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE): you\'ll partner directly stakeholders across Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Product, Finance, and Commercial teams to understand how the business operates and build production-grade solutions in Palantir Foundry.

Using Foundry, you\'ll design ontologies, build scalable data pipelines, develop operational applications, and create trusted data products that improve how Nscale manages infrastructure, serves customers, and makes decisions.

You'll partner closely with internal customers to understand their workflows, challenge assumptions, and translate complex operational problems into scalable technical solutions. Success in this role requires equal comfort writing code, modelling business domains, and collaborating directly with stakeholders to deliver software that drives measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do

Build Operational Data Products

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready solutions in Palantir Foundry that solve high-impact operational challenges.
• Design ontologies that accurately model Nscale\'s infrastructure, customers, commercial operations, and internal business processes.
• Build scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and model data from cloud infrastructure, platform services, business systems, and customer environments.
• Develop reusable APIs, Actions, and operational applications that become part of how teams work every day.

Partner with the Business

• Work directly with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Product teams to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, gather requirements, and map operational workflows into Foundry.
• Challenge assumptions, identify opportunities for automation, and recommend pragmatic technical approaches.
• Iterate rapidly with users, incorporating feedback to continuously improve solutions.
• Act as a trusted technical partner—not a downstream delivery function.

Build a Trusted Data Platform

• Establish scalable data models, semantic layers, and data products that enable trusted decision-making.
• Implement data quality, lineage, monitoring, testing, and governance to ensure reliable and secure solutions.
• Design and maintain security, permissions, and access controls across the Foundry platform.
• Help define engineering standards, reusable patterns, and best practices as Nscale\'s data platform evolves.

Own Outcomes

• Take end-to-end ownership of solutions from discovery through production and continuous improvement.
• Balance technical excellence with pragmatism, delivering value quickly while building for long-term scalability.
• Influence the evolution of Nscale\'s operational platform and contribute to strategic technical decisions.

About You

You\'re a builder who enjoys solving operational problems with technology. You don\'t wait for detailed requirements—you help define them. You\'re equally comfortable discussing ontology design with engineers as you are facilitating workshops with business stakeholders. You enjoy understanding how people work and building software that makes those workflows simpler, faster, and more reliable.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or a related technical role.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience delivering production solutions in Palantir Foundry.
• Experience designing ontologies and building production workflows using Pipeline Builder and/or Code Repositories, Actions, APIs, and Foundry\'s security model.
• Strong Python engineering skills with experience integrating data from APIs, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and operational systems.
• Demonstrated experience partnering directly with stakeholders to understand workflows, shape requirements, and deliver technical solutions.
• Experience working with Git-based development workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A bias toward ownership, curiosity, and delivering high-quality solutions in fast-moving environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building operational applications—not just analytical datasets—in Palantir Foundry.
• Experience modelling complex operational domains such as infrastructure, cloud platforms, assets, customers, supply chain, manufacturing, or logistics using Foundry Ontology.
• Experience leading discovery workshops, solution design sessions, or implementation engagements with business stakeholders.
• Experience working with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, infrastructure telemetry, usage-based billing, or distributed systems.
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, Dask, pandas, or similar large-scale data processing technologies.
• Experience working in AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, or other high-growth technology companies.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you\'ll have:

• Designed and implemented the core Foundry ontologies that model Nscale\'s infrastructure and business operations.
• Delivered production applications and data products that are used daily across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Product, and Commercial teams.
• Established scalable engineering patterns for developing, governing, and operating solutions in Foundry.
• Become a trusted technical partner who helps shape operational strategy through technology and data.
• Improved the speed, reliability, and efficiency of critical business workflows across the company.
