Job summary

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineers lead complex deployments of frontier models in production with strategic customers. You will own discovery, scoping, system design, build, and rollout, partnering with customer engineering and domain teams.

You will measure success by production adoption, impact on workflows, and feedback guiding product and model roadmaps, working with Product, Research, Partnerships, GRC, Security, and GTM teams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering production-grade software and systems.
• Experience with end-to-end deployment in customer projects.
• Ability to write and review production-grade code in Python/JavaScript or similar.
• Experience deploying systems powered by LLMs or generative models.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across deployments from prototype to production.
• Build full-stack systems delivering customer value.
• Embed with customer teams to understand needs and drive adoption.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early.
• Contribute code when progress depends on it.
