Job summary

Australian Fruit Juice (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Food Technologist to join our team in the Chin Bee West Region. This full-time role focuses on quality, safety, and innovation of our fruit juice products, supporting development and QA/QC initiatives in our beverage manufacturing operations.

You will work with laboratory equipment, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in food science/technology or related discipline.
• Experience in QA/QC within beverage/food manufacturing is preferred.
• Familiarity with HACCP, FSMA and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify incoming raw materials and packaging, and inspect product labels for compliance.
• Ensure raw materials, in-process and final inspections are recorded per procedures.
• Inspect finished goods, packaging and labelling; conduct QC checks on production line.
• Calibrate QC equipment (pH meters, scales, thermometers, metal detectors) and troubleshoot issues.
• Support audits by regulators and customers; maintain proper documentation and records.

About the role

Australian Fruit Juice (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a talented Food Technologist to join our team in the Chin Bee West Region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and innovation of our fruit juice products. As a Food Technologist, you will be at the forefront of our product development and quality assurance operations, directly contributing to our commitment to delivering safe, nutritious, and delicious beverages to consumers across the region. This role offers the opportunity to work with science methodologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• 1. Verify QC’s Incoming raw/packaging material and product labels inspections to ensure that the materials received are correct and comply with standard specifications
• 2. Ensures raw materials & packaging, in process and final inspection/testing are carried out and recorded according to procedures.
• 3. Inspection of finished goods, packaging and labelling.
• 4. Production in-line quality control checks and troubleshooting, equipment inspection, including calibration of QC test equipment such as pH meters, weighing scales, thermometers, metal detectors, etc.
• 5. Communicate with relevant departments and ensure product manufactured complies with specifications and ensure production records and proper filing of relevant documents. Verification of production/ technical/ QC records in compliance with FSSC 22000.
• 6. Verify in process packaging integrity test such as dye-testing, cap sealing, foil sealing including the outer carton.
• 7. Making rounds at production floor to ensure workers are adhering to GMP and company SOPs including the cleanliness of the premise.
• 8. Perform chemical and microbe analysis and records for incoming, in process, finished product and shelf life studies.
• 9. Perform environmental monitoring.
• 10. Maintain good housekeeping of the laboratory.
• 11. Proper maintenance of all documentations and product specifications (Includes FSSC 22000).
• 12. Handle customer/ regulatory (SFA, NEA, HALAL, HACCP, FSSC, etc) audits/ request
• 13. Provides in-house training to production/logistics/maintenance staffs
• 14. Support in newly developed product trial run/ R&D
• 15. Pest Control Coordination
• 16. Investigate and feedback customer complaint
• 17. Weekly monitoring of close to expiry stock, returned goods checking
• 18. Liaising with service provider on arrangement (HPP, external lab test, etc)
• 19. Product Label Vetting and liaising with respective department on amendments/ reprints required
• 20. Perform weekly QC checks and complete QC records at affiliated HACCP-certified production facility
• 21. Other ad hoc QA/QC duties given by department head.

What we're looking for

• ITE, Diploma, Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
• Proven experience working as a Food Technologist or in a similar quality assurance role within the beverage or food manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP, FSMA, and relevant local regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in conducting microbiological and chemical testing, with experience using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation software
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with food technology advancements
• Preferred experience in juice processing, beverage technology, or fruit-based product development
