Job summary

Wilhelmsen Ship Management in Singapore seeks a hands-on Vessel Manager responsible for a fleet of 3–5 bulk carriers. You will take full technical ownership, drive safe and cost-efficient operations, and oversee maintenance, repairs, and docking projects.

You will collaborate with shipboard teams, manage budgets and technical decisions, and lead incident prevention, investigations, and continuous improvement. Strong English and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Sailing experience as Chief Engineer on bulk carriers or shore-based Vessel Manager experience handling diverse bulk carriers.
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations and compliance (ISM, ISO, etc.).
• Good command of written and spoken English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical management and performance of a fleet of 3–5 bulk carriers.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-efficient operations at all times.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, and docking projects for assigned vessels.
• Collaborate with shipboard teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Manage budgets, procurement approvals, and technical decisions.
• Drive incident prevention, investigations, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with owners, class, and key stakeholders.
