Helm is working with a ship-owning company to recruit a Vessel Manager based in Singapore. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, this role focuses on managing vessel safety, technical performance, fuel efficiency, and maintenance, while leading the Ship’s Master and Chief Engineer.
The Vessel Manager will ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company standards, promote safety onboard, and manage inspections, procurement, crew performance, and vessel budgets. The role also involves close coordination with internal teams to meet operational and commercial goals.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of shore-based experience with bulk carriers as a Vessel Manager and holds a Class I COC (Chief Engineer or Master) or a relevant engineering degree. Strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to vessel performance improvement are also essential.
