Job summary

Maersk in Singapore seeks a Fleet Superintendent to lead the fleet operations and maintenance of container vessels, empowering captains and chief engineers while driving safety, efficiency and decarbonization.

You will report to the Fleet Director, manage budgets and coordinate dry-docking, surveys and performance improvements, with international travel and a focus on collaboration across ships and shore teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maritime operations and maintenance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven leadership of diverse crews.
• Excellent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Managerial responsibility of Captains and Chief Engineers.
• Ensuring safety is a primary responsibility.
• Develop effective teams and skilled personnel onboard.
• Drive engagement of reports, officers and crews.
• Manage all operational matters of vessels.
• Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs.
• Plan inspections and dry-docking.
• Ensure vessel certifications and surveys are in order.
• Monitor performance and coordinate corrective actions.
• Oversee budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores and dry dockings.
• Suggest innovations, savings, improvements.
• Monitor quality of services from shipyards and suppliers.
• Conduct technical and vetting inspections.
• Provide operational feedback for future pipelines.
• Be part of decarbonization agenda.
• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to management.
