Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Fleet Superintendent in Singapore to manage the fleet operations and maintenance of multiple container vessels equipped with modern tech, including EWRS systems. You will directly supervise Captains and Chief Engineers, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective operations aligned with Maersk’s goals and values, while advancing the decarbonization agenda.

You will report to the Fleet Director and may travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration.
• Experience in operations and maintenance in maritime industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage Captains and Chief Engineers aboard vessels.
• Ensure safety is a primary responsibility and drive crew capability.
• Develop effective teams and ensure highly skilled personnel onboard.
• Foster sea-to-shore collaboration and engage direct reports, officers and crews.
• Oversee all operational matters relating to the vessels under your responsibility.
• Plan and coordinate inspections and dry-dockings, ensuring budgets.
• Maintain vessel certifications and surveys for class, flag and international rules.
• Monitor vessel performance and arrange corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores and dry dockings.
• Suggest innovations, savings and improvements within your area.
• Monitor yard/service provider quality to regulatory and customer standards.
• Conduct technical and vetting inspections and provide operational feedback for future builds.
• Be an essential part of Maersk’s decarbonization agenda.
