Job summary

Maersk in Singapore seeks a Fleet Superintendent to oversee fleet operations and maintenance for several container vessels equipped with advanced technologies. You will report to the Fleet Director and manage Captains and Chief Engineers, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations aligned with company goals.

You will lead a team of officers and crews, drive engagement onboard, and manage budgets for maintenance and dry-dock activities while supporting the company’s decarbonization

Responsibilities

• Managerial responsibility of Captains and Chief Engineers assigned to vessels
• Ensure safety as a primary responsibility
• Develop effective teams and ensure highly skilled personnel onboard
• Drive engagement of direct reports and crews onboard
• Manage all operational matters related to vessels under responsibility
• Plan and coordinate maintenance, repairs and modifications within budgets
• Coordinate inspections and dry docking of vessels
• Ensure vessel certifications and surveys are in order
• Monitor performance and arrange corrective actions
• Oversee budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores and dry dockings
• Suggest innovations, savings and improvements in area of responsibility
• Monitor quality of services from shipyards, workshops and suppliers
• Conduct technical and vetting inspections
• Provide operational feedback to improve future building pipeline for safety and efficiency
• Contribute to decarbonization agenda
• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to management
